Many mainstream publications have pointed to a few headlining moments of feminist clarity during the 2016 Olympics, declaring Rio to be most empowering games for women yet.

…which is why it’s important to pay attention to the correspondents who aren’t afraid of pointing out that just because we live in 2016, doesn’t mean our society is all rainbows and unicorns in their view or treatment of female athletes.

“Structural sexism really takes a village — perhaps an Olympic village…” says Vox’s 2016ish correspondent and renowned voice of Millennial feminism, Liz Plank, who ranked the top ten most sexist moments of these past Olympic games during her latest broadcast.
