MM: Defsound

Nai Vasha   Defsound is a mighty force. The vegan, lyricist, DJ, culture provoker from Los Angeles speaks to people where they are -not where they aspire to be. For me, a music snob and jazz creature, I'm often hesitant to listen to new rap. Hell, new music at all. I just really don't care about what people have to say these days. It's either a lie or facade to make them seem rich and shit. We know that's a rented car and necklace. We know that deep down inside killing is wrong and the stench of masochism reeks from most of today's trap jingle. We know the words that we recite are garbage and slightly damaging to us as a culture. But we still do it because music has the power to seep into the psyche and live within the subconscious and control us. Please call me a hater. Because I hate the state of popular music at the moment and will do anything I can to shed light on good talent, good lyrics, and good music. Defsound is one of those that does it all. He uses his voice to relay a message with substance. His taste in music is influential.  Last month he interviewed me, KDEF radio, where we talked about everything from religion to purpose to the power in having a strong point of view.
