Rihanna debuts her 'genderless' gothic designs at Fenty x Puma

As of recently, Puma has been pushing the envelope by tapping brands such as ICNY, KITH, and BAPE to bolster their appeal – aiding them in keeping up with joneses in Fashion and Streetwear. The German brand has most recently enlisted Rihanna as creative director of Puma, making her first debut at New York Fashion Week. Fenty displayed her ‘genderless’ designs on an Industrial ‘arctic- urban’ forest setting where models took the runway in a series of bold black monochromatic designs influenced by the goth urban street style the singer herself  has become known for.

The looks themselves consisted of a mix of crop tops and pants, over-sized outerwear, large down coats, form-fitting streetwear, skin-tight jumpsuits, laced body-conscious dresses, and furry hoodies. Accessories included rosary-style body chains and chunky chokers. To accompany the looks, the models wore minimal make-up, dramatic matte black lips and slicked-back painted white roots. A true highlight of the show was Rihanna’s decision to challenge traditional male and female silhouettes by choosing to design a collection that appeals to both men and women.

Stay tuned for more information on future collaborations including the alleged collaboration with Kylie Jenner. Let the riots ensue.
