After cheese, yogurt is usually the next big thing when planning to go plant-based, but in my humble opinion, yogurt offers way better options.

Like milk, some non-dairy yogurt brands offer minimal ingredients while others add on various gums, oils and stabilizers for better mouthfeel or shelf life.

Either way, as always, check your labels and choose your battles.

BONUS FACT: In the United States, “yogurt” is a federally regulated term that can only refer to products that were created with one or both of the bacteria Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus.
